Progress view - overview

The Progress view allows a manager or administrator to compare a project's current plan against the project's progress (projected schedule) when time data, plus other project plans, are considered. By analyzing other projects, resource allocations and priorities, the Progress view provides much more than the typical budget versus actual data. The end result is a more realistic outlook of a project's timeline.

The Progress view is accessed by clicking the Progress button on the Project Scheduling view's toolbar.

A project's overall status is displayed at the bottom of the screen.

For each task, data representing the Current Plan is shown in blue and the Projected Schedule is displayed in orange. The Current Plan is the budgeted hours and timeline as set in the Project Scheduling view. The Projected Schedule is the forecasted hours and finish date based on data entered by employees and other active projects.

For each task, you can review its progress against Hours using the 2 columns to the right of the task name and review against Start/Finish dates using the timeline bars. A thin black line in the blue timeline bar represents actual hours entered by the employee. By clicking on a task's name, details for the task's time are displayed.

Read the Progress View topic for more details on interpreting the information in this view.
