Pie Chart Reports

Pie Charts are used to show the relative size of individual items that make up a sum or total.

Pie chart reports only show the 10 largest values as unique pieces within the chart. All additional values are grouped into an 11th piece labeled 'Other'.

Pie chart tips

  • Only have one series that you want to review.
  • None of the values that you want to review should be negative.
  • Don't have more than seven sets of data categories. More than that and the chart may be unreadable.

Example for a pie chart displaying total hours worked across Tasks.

  1. From the Series list box, select one item - select Task Name.

  2. From the Data list, select the data to be distributed (sliced up) - select Hours Worked.

Complete instructions for building a Pie Chart report from scratch are located in the Create new report topic.
