These options permit an administrator to manage password security settings.
Note: Users linked to Active Directory are exempt from these requirements unless a similar option has been enabled within Active Directory. |
Password Settings are located in Database Options (Menu > Setup tab > Database Options).
A strong password is required for each user when the 'Enforce Strong Password' option is checked.
A strong password must:
contain at least 8 characters.
contain at least 3 of the following character types - uppercase letter, lowercase letter, number or special character.
Cannot contain the user's e-mail address.
Cannot reuse any of the 5 previous passwords.
Check the Enforce Strong Password box.
Click Apply.
When the box is checked for the first time, only future passwords will need to meet the strong password requirements.
This option forces all users to change their login passwords after a set (and recurring) period of time.
Reset Frequency (Days): This option sets the interval (in days) between forced password reset (example 120 days).
Minimum Password Age (Days): After a user changes his or her password, this number represents the number of days he or she must wait until they can change their password again.
Click Apply.
Note: Users are notified to reset their passwords (via the login page) when there are 3 days remaining to change it. |
