Options

Use the Options view to configure other preferences.

 

This topic describes (1) how to modify the option to Assign Tasks when assigning Task groups and (2) how to change settings for Paging, and (3) how to modify the text that appears in the e-mails sent to alternate approving managers. Modifications to these options do not alter the settings for other users.

Assign tasks when assigning task groups:

Easily and quickly assign tasks to employees or teams by using task groups. When this option is checked, a task belonging to a task group is automatically assigned when the task group is assigned to a project. For further control over project assignments, you can manually remove or add individual tasks to projects at any time from the Project Assignments view.

 

Use this option as follows:

  1. Select Options from the menu (Menu > Setup tab > Options).

  2. Check (or uncheck) the "Assign Tasks when assigning Task groups" box.

  3. Click Apply.
     

Note: When a task is added to an existing task group, the option to update assignments is made available to the user.

 

 

Paging:

By default, the software displays 100 records (items) per page in many views. The previous or next buttons are used to view additional pages.

 

Use the Paging setting to modify how many records are displayed on each page. Modifications to this option do not alter the settings for other users.
 

Use this option as follows:

 

  1. Select Options from the menu (Menu > Setup tab > Options).

  2. Check the Specify items per page box and enter a number of items per page (minimum of 1).

    or
    Uncheck the Specify items per page box to remove all limits.
     

  3. Click Apply.

 

Note:  Paging is not used on all views.

 

 

Alternate Manager notifications:

You can modify the text used in the e-mail notifications sent to alternate approving managers.

 

Use this option as follows:

 

  1. Select which e-mail notification type to modify and click the Change Notification Text link.

  2. Modify the text in the Subject line and in the Body as required. The tags used in the subject line and body cannot be edited. New tags cannot be added, but existing tags can be removed.

  3. Click the Preview button to see the applied changes.
     

Notes:

  • Employee names displayed in the Preview may use demo data.

  • Pressing the Restore Defaults button will remove all applied changes and restore the Subject line, Body text and tags to their default settings.

  • Basic HTML formatting tags, such as <br> to add a line break, can be used to format the message.

 

  1. By default, the newly modified text will only be applied to this particular notification job. It can be applied to all additional and/or existing notification jobs by selecting either of the available checkboxes.

  1. Click the Save button to apply the changes.
