New tasks default to Global

Use this option as follows:

 

Box checked: To set tasks as Global whenever a new task is created. This option is useful for companies that don't make specific assignments of projects and tasks to employees (i.e. assign all tasks to all employees). If a project has no assignments made manually through the Project Assignments view or Quick Assign, then global tasks are assigned to the project and all employees are assigned to the global tasks.

 

Box unchecked: (Default Setting) To set tasks as Non Global whenever a new task is created.

 

Note: This option does not apply to tasks created in the Project Planning tool.

To set your preference:

  1. Select Database Options from the menu (Menu > Setup tab > Database Options).

  2. Select the General tab.

  3. In the Assignment Options area, check (or uncheck) the box labeled "New Task default to Global".

  4. Click Apply.
