Assigning Managers to Access Groups
When a manager is a member of an access group, that manager has access to any items (projects, task groups, employees and employee groups) associated with the access group. The manager also has access to any items associated with any sub-level access groups. The following details how to assign managers to access groups and how to review assignments.
Prerequisite:
-
The hierarchy structure should be completed before assigning managers to access groups.
To assign managers to an access group:
-
Select Limited Access from the navigation bar (Security > Limited Access).
-
Verify that the Managers tab is selected in the right side pane.
-
In left pane, check the access group to assign. If there is a hierarchy of access groups, select the top most access group applicable to this manager. There is no need to check any sub-level access groups as the manager will automatically have access to these.
-
In the right side pane, select the manager from the list.
-
Click the Assign button on the toolbar above the list of managers.
Once managers have been assigned to access groups, the next step is to assign the access group to specific items (projects, task groups, employees and employee groups).
Important Consideration: Users with full Administrator security rights are not automatically assigned to the root/top access group and therefore will not necessarily be able to view all projects, etc. This is a change from previous versions of Dovico Timesheet where an ‘Administrator’ had access to everything. |
